About us

The Quernstone started in 1984 in the heart of the historic burgh of Stromness on the mainland of the Orkney Islands. We have a Knitwear Shop, where we not only sell our own designs, but a wide range of other knitwear, fabulous yarns, accessories and jewellery.

Just across the road is The Quernstone, full of all sorts of gifts, home furnishings, toys and stationery. Just for November and December we open our Christmas Shop further along the cobbled street. Well worth a visit!
